can i open my clinic after completing diploma in ophthalmology

In order to be an Opthalmologist and an legal practitioner one need to pass MBBS and then followed by a MD/MS in Opthalmology. With only Diploma in Opthalmology you can't open your clinic and be a physician.

Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Ajmer offers undergraduate courses for MBBS students & postgraduate courses in MS & MD in various subjects. It does not provide diploma course in ophthalmology. However, you can try in some other institution for admission into this course. You need to check the official website

After Bsc Ophthalmic Technology Course, Am I eligible for MS / MD Ophthalmology without any MBBS degree

Dear aspirant,

The candidate must have a MBBS or BDS or any equivalent degree which  must be recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI)/Dental Council of India (DCI) . Since, you have a BSc. degree, thus you are not eligible for MS or MD.

The eligibility criteria for diploma in ophthalmology states that the candidate must have passed class 12th with minimum 50% marks in relevant subject field such as biology from a recognised board of education. So, you can apply to this course, without any problem.
