Hello student as 5 subjects are enough to get passed in class 12 as 6th subject is optional subject. If you want to appear in compartment examination and get passed in Mathematics subject sure you can appear in the compartment examination.
If you're willing to pursue engineering from top engineering colleges like NIT's IIITs CFTIs IITS and many others college you need to appear in jee main entrance examination.
Eligibility - Candidates must Candidates must passed or appearing class 12 with physics chemistry and mathematics with minimum 75 percent marks aggregate from a recognized board.

After 12th for drawing and painting I will suggest you to give entrance exams for fine art degree but don't rely on this you join media college , NID , NIFT , NAFTA . And for courses you can opt for BFA , Diploma in fine arts bu t be sure that your painting and drawing is all about your mid creativity so beside these things you can also do online projects so that if you will good in that then you will not need to wait for three years you will have bright future .

Coming to your question to get eligible for engineering courses you have to pass your 12th board with Physics,Chemistry and Maths securing of minimum 75%.You can appear for neet and try to secure a seat in medical courses as mathematics is not compulsory there.If your desired is to study engineering then kindly wait this year and try to appear for CBSE improvement exam next year. Hello student yes you can get admission if you've sixth subject then you must passed as on the basis of marks obtained in sixth subject still you need to full fill the eligibility criteria which says - Candidates must passed or appearing class 12 in any stream with minimum 50 percent marks from a recognized board.

Hello Abhay, Usually compartment is given when a student fails in one subject in 12th standard,however if you require more and specific details,please tell me in which educational board are you studying.
If you are comfortable in Maths then you should go for mathematics since its most useful subject and will help you to understand economics better and in future you might go for MBA so having a maths will never be a disadvantage , for second choice you can go for Computer science.
