If you are interested in colleges in Ludhiana only then I would suggest you to go fo counselings for colleges in Ludhiana. Although the colleges are much better in Chandigarh, if you wish to study in Ludhiana then go for it. There is no need to attend the counseling

In every exam, the official website provides certain marks/ranks which are required to qualify the exam. If you've qualified the exam, your name might be there in merit list. And there might me a mail/SMS from the institute calling you for counseling rounds.

Counseling procedure is for the students where they are allocated with a seat according to there marks in the respective exams. During a counseling session, if a student is alloted a seat in the college then there is no need to come again.
