What is the cut off required for md pathology in Thirunelveli medical college?

Amita Jain 14th Feb, 2018

Dear Lakshmi

It is difficult to exactly predict the exact cutoff of this year given that the ranks needed changes every year with the number of other aspirants competing, the difficulty level of exam, etc. However, you may get an idea from previous year statistics.

But, on the top of this, manually digging state quota data for every course and college in all states of India, under which Tirunelveli Medical College will also fall, is huge and difficult. However, I can provide you with the data of last rank which got admission in M.D. Pathology course in 50% AIQ counselling (given below).

  • M.D. Pathology-
The last rank in general category who got admission in MD Pathology course in NEET PG 2017 50% AIQ counselling was 9,034. It is futile to give the marks since NEET PG 2017 maximum marks (1500) were different from NEET PG 2018 max. Marks (1200). The college allotted to this rank was North Bengal Medical College, Darjeeling.

In case you wish to get admission in MD Pathology under 50% AIQ counselling, then going by previous year data, you may aim at a NEET PG 2018 rank of 7,000 or below.

In case you wish to know about your chances of getting Thirunelveli medical college, then you can use the automated College Predictor tool of Careers360 once NEET PG rank cards are released tomorrow. You can enter your rank and marks scored, and it will give you the list of colleges you might get admissions in. The NEET PG College predictor tool will collate data of many previous years’, normalize it (by making different maximum marks (like 1500 of NEET 2017 & 1200 of NEET 2018) comparable) and give you the prediction.

Feel free to ask any follow-up questions that you may have.

Hope it helps. Good Luck!

I want to be a pathologist so Which course after 12th(PCMB) should i take and what will be the duration and fees?

Anonymous 13th Jul, 2017

Fees varies in all colleges.
After completing your 12th class you can apply for various degree or diploma courses in Pathology. But, its better to pursue degree course instead of doing diploma course as it provides in-depth knowledge of the subject. Duration of the diploma courses in two-year and degree course is 3 year.
A master's degree in pathology is the minimum level of education required to become a pathologist.
You can take various specialisations which include

Hematology
Plant Pathology
Chemical Pathology
Cytopathology
Neuropathology
Dermatopathology
Forensic Pathology
Paediatric Pathology
Surgical Pathology

Good Luck.
