Both of these branch are good.It is dependent upon you if u wanna work in petroleum industry then petrochemical engineering is the beat branch and in this new era there is an new demand of petrochemical engineering. The chances of getting a good job is there in petrochemical engineering evwn though in chemical engineering.
But if you wanna study more about chemical other than petroleum then u should take chemical engineering as the option.
Moreover, as petrochemical is an sub branch of chemical engineering . Petrochemical engineering deals with wider scope the new petroleum project coming in future. And the chemical engineering give you more details wider scope.so accordingly there is no downside if u choose and study chemical engineering.

Generally, JCT College of engineering is one of the top notch colleges in Coimbatore. The main advantage is that the placements are really good that top companies such as Audi, benz, L&T, Petrofac and many other companies recruit the students. It has a good infrastructure and good faculty too and the library is really good. It had a internet connectivity all over the college and over all the college is the best one and for petrochemical also, it's good .

Yes he can, as long as he is able to clear the entrance examination so as to secure a seat in any college offering a course in petro chemical engineering, you are good to go. Also one needs to meet the minimum percentage criteria for the 12th boards to be eligible for admissions.

Placements in petrochemical Engineering goes around 70-80%. Placements are based on aptitude . interested students can also do internships. Average package goes around 2-3 lacs. Placement cell is quite helpful .
