The salary of a petroleum engineer depends on various factors. Like what company you join, your job profile, the market price of Gas, oil etc, if you are a fresher etc. Many PSUs recruit Petroleum Engineers. For companies like ONGC, OIL in starting you can expect around INR 60000 per month. Companies like Shell, Weatherford offer a lump sum amount approx INR 80000 to 90000 per month. If you join as a fresher, the salary might be less but as you gain experience in the field, you can expect more.
