what is the scope for phd in psm/public health after mbbs?

Heena Agrawal 6th Mar, 2021
Hi...
PhD degree is a doctorate level degree and is the highest educational degree one can earn in the country. Generally one does not pursue further studies post completion of the PhD Public Health degree.

Employability is high and graduates are hired quickly upon completion of their degree in high pay job profiles. With this course, there is no limit to learning and knowledge.

They have teaching jobs in colleges/universities after this course and then clearing the UGC-NET exam required for becoming a permanent lecturer.

They have many jobs in Hospitals, Colleges/ Universities, Healthcare Organizations etc.

Students can also opt for aDSc (Doctor of Science) degree in any related field.

After gaining adequate experience in the related field, PhD Public Health degree holders can work in research laboratories.

Once you finish your PhD you can also be qualified for a lecturer post in Public Health and also to teach in colleges and universities with UGC scales.

i am getting 1000 rank in iit jam.....and i want an authentic answer that are nits good for research really...becuz my plan is to do phd in best college of india or foreign depends.but is it worthy to do msc from nit if u want to go abroad for phd ???

anirudha vats 27th Mar, 2021

Hi,

Well to be honest, if you plan to do PhD from abroad then you should try to get into IITs or any such premier Central University like JNU or BHU or DU. Because that matters as you will need to do a lot of good lab work before you apply for admission abroad. I would suggest you to give the exam again rather than settling for nit as the faculty and research facility is very weak in NITs. So choose wisely.

All the best.

if i complete b.sc anisthisia technology , m.sc anisthisia technology ,and PHD then can i called doctor.?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 13th Feb, 2021

After PhD you can place the title of Dr. before your name but that doesn't imply that you will be treated as a clinical practitioner. For that you have to pass MBBS/BDS/BHMS etc courses.

I hope my answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!

theeanonymous 10th Feb, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Yes you can apply for UGC NET Environmental Science.Environmental science is multidisciplinary in nature ,so candidates who have studied related subjects in their masters can apply. But as as you have post graduation in Microbiology then the best and right option for you is CSIR NET Life Sciences. Anyways to answer your query, coming from microbiology , it will be easy to cover the subject topics for NET. After clearing JRF you will be very much eligible for research fellowship and you can pursue  PhD in Microbiology as well in any UGC recognized institution in India.

To whom it may concern... I am pursuing PGDBM... and later would like to move into teaching... Trying to seek guidance... Do I need to appear for B.Ed or NET... and also if i need to pursue PhD later how can i go for it...?

Abhishek Roy 6th Feb, 2021

After PGDBM, you probably wont be able to move as faculty in Institutes, as a PhD is neccessary. If you ought move as a Faculty in School, you may require a B.Ed, as made compulsory by Most Regulatory Boards for recruitment of Teaching Positions. Nowadays, however you easily can pursue a B.Ed in Distance Education Mode from Reputed Universities like IGNOU, AMITY or Sikkim Manipal.

As far as PhD in Management is concerned, you may require a CSIR NET Scorecard besides a Valid CAT/GMAT Score, for JRF, FPM and PhD positions, depending on requirements of various Management Institutes and Universities.
