Yes you can pursue research in Astrophysics. There are several research institutes that allow Btech students to pursue research. In India you can apply to several institutes like Indian Institute of Astrophysics, ISRO, Indian institute of Spase science and technology and IISc.

Considering your marks and last year's eligibility notification, Yes, you are eligible for KEAM as the criteria were that candidates must have secured 50% marks in Maths separately and an aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths together.
