I am assuming that you want to pursue basic sciences. If you want to do engineering then there is no question at all, go for IIT.

To give you a brief account, IISERs are institutes that were set up with the idea of promoting the culture of basic sciences in India.

So, if you are passionate about doing research , you should definitely join IISER.



For curricular and extra-curricular.
After much deliberation, I would like to express my thoughts.

I ASSUME THAT YOU'RE A ASPIRING SCIENTIST, IF YOU AREN'T THEN JUST GO TO IIT.

IITs are engineering institutes, they weren't and aren't being established to create intellectual power but for highly skilled and educated man power.

IISERs are science institutes, they're goal is to create intellectual property.

The science courses in IITs aren't research oriented!!! Yes, that's true. At IISERs, the course makes you way more versatile, something which is very important in scientific research in today's day and age. IISERs are highly inter disciplinary, you'll find chemists working with biologists to make new drugs, physicists working with biologists to know better about the origin of life, mathematicians working with earth on modelling winds in a hurricane etc. IITs' science courses are application oriented and not research oriented.

One more thing, the people in IISERs are unique, yeah! They are GENUINELY curious and intelligent people. You find people seeing wind, clouds and taking about their shape and implications thereof!!! Life here is awesome. You'll never run out of new stuff to learn.

The professors at IISERs are awesome, all of them are actively doing their own research, they'll happily tell you about their research of you ask them.

Coming to jobs! IITians have good packages, but IISERites don't have a concept of so called packages instead IISERites get good PhD colleges (mostly educational institutions abroad). Again, if you're an aspiring scientist, don't worry much about pay, at the end of the day, smart people don't remain jobless.

National Institute of Technology Puducherry and Pondicherry College of Engineering both goes almost side by side. However, Pondicherry Engineering College has better ranking an ratings than NIT Puducherry. NIT Puducherry has been ranked at 130th Position by NIRF among top Engineering colleges of India in 2020 while ranking of Pondicherry Engineering college is 122. Being one of the oldest colleges of the town, Pondicherry Engineering College has many experienced faculties. Coming to placements, these are almost same. It would be difficult to compare. Both core as well as software and sales based companies recruit from these two institutions. However, most number of companies recruit from NIT Puducherry with more package than Pondicherry Engineering college. The brand name of NIT helps much in this case. Companies like Capgemini, Samsung, Zoho, Alcatel- lucent, IBM, Sapient, Mphasis etc recruit EC engineers from NIT Puducherry. Placements of Pondicherry Engineering college is also good. Dear student
According to nirf ranking Nit trichy is the best option. No one can beat nit trichy ,be it for placements or academics. It's  placement rate  for cse branch is 99.4 %  with highest salary offered is 42 LPA.
Nit Surathkal is also one of a top nit. Both the nits are better option.

University of petroleum and energy studies (UPES) is state university located in uttarakhand approved by UGC.  The university have good excellence in teaching and the infrastructure and the atmosphere is also good. The have a good library and the placement are good in the university.

The minimum placement opportunities for the college would be upto 85%. Numerous students gets placed in many pharma companies and the rest it depends on students skill whether he gets placed or not.

The minimum average salary might range upto 3 to 4 lakh per annum and it may varies with experience.

IIIT Pune 2019 placements witnessed a total of 123 students being placed in leading multinational companies with handsome packages. The highest package offered in IIIT Pune 2019 placements was Rs 8.5 LPA while the average package stood at Rs 3 LPA. Some of the top companies that visited IIIT Pune campus for 2019 placements included Blazeclan, Elastic Run, Finolex Industries, HDFC Bank, IBM, Infosys and L&T Infotech.
Many IT based companies visit IIIT Naya Raipur to offer placement. The average placement here is about 8 lacs per annum and highest is about 42 lacs per annum. And about 95% are placed here every year. Whole 7th semester is dedicated towards internship which may be industry based or may be research based.

It is a Public/Government Institute and have UGC Approval , Courses offered here is Btech , MBA ,mtech e.t.c. It have good NIRF Rankings , Good facilities available and 252 students rated 4.4/5 for this Institute .

Maharaja Agrasen Institute

It is a Private college and affiliated to university , Courses offered here is btech and MBA , Good facilities but only Boys have hostel and 282 Students rated 3.7/5 for this Institute .

About placement trends:

- around 32 students in the 2020 IT batch got campus placements and the figure was 36 for 2019. In general around 45-50% students get placed successfully while around 3-5% get PPO's through internships.
