with 92.73%ile in CET can i get in welingkar for pgdm? or may be any top college for pgdm?

Akshay Kadam 20th Mar, 2018

Rohit you have a good percentile score but with this score, I am sorry to say you won't be able to get seat both in Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research and N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai. Last year cut-off for Welingkar was 97.143 percentile with last merit rank as 614 and cut-off for Dalmia was 95.930 percentile with last merit rank as 942.

But with 92.73 percentile you still have a good chance of getting admission in some of the top b-schools in Maharashtra. On the basis of last year cut-off records, I am mentioning the name of few b-school below where you have a very good chance of converting:

  • Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA), University of Pune
  • Bombay St. Xavier College Soc.'s Xavier Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai
  • MET's Institute of Management, Mumbai
  • Chetana's Ramprasad Khandelwal Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai
  • Indian Education Society's Management College & Research Centre, MumbaiLala Lajpatrai Institute of Management, Mumbai
  • Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management, Mumbai
  • MAEER's MIT School of Management, Pune
  • Zagdu Singh Charitable Trust's Thakur Institute of Management Studies & Research, Mumbai
  • MAEER's MIT School of Management, Pune
  • Rizvi Institute of Management Studies & Research, Mumbai
  • Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Management Studies & Research, Mumbai
  • Shree C. E. Society's Indira Institute of Management, Pune
  • Alkesh Dinesh Modi Institute for Financial & Management Studies, Mumbai

In this list for the first two colleges you need a very good luck along with your result as you are at the border but in the rest of the colleges, you have a good chance of conversion.

All the best!!

A student who has already applied for sies & Welingkar & called for gdpi in April, on basis of cmat,.

Akshay Kadam 18th Mar, 2018
Hello Neelam, if you have already got a call for SIES & Wellingkar for the next round of GD-PI on the basis of CMAT score then you don't need to apply for CAP round again because CAP round is to shortlist a student for the second round of GD-PI on the basis of MAH-CET score.

No with MAH-CET exam you are not directly registered for CAP rounds. To get calls for the second round of admission from other colleges (leaving SIES & Wellingkar as you have already got a call) you will need to register for CAP rounds.

CAP 2018 is the final admission round for MBA admission to JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA and other 400 B-schools in Maharashtra. After the declaration of MAH CET exam result for MBA admission, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra will announce the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2018 schedule. CAP 2018 will be conducted in the month of May 2018 at a number of MBA colleges in Maharashtra called Facilitation Centres (FCs).

CAP 2018 to have 4 admission rounds

CAP 2018 will be conducted in 4 rounds. The process will consist of Online Application submission; Option form submission, document verification, counselling along with brief GD-PI, generation of merit list and allotment of MBA seat. Final allotment of seats will be based on your scores in MAHCET; CAT; GMAT, CMAT exams, academics & other parameters leading to merit score in CAP round.
