If you want to pursue Master of Engineering or Master of Technology you can sit for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE). Sorry you can't be able to get admission in nit Calicut for production engineering or chemical engineering with this percentile rank. You need atleast 25k rank for Calicut production engineering in general category. 89 percentile is just cutoff of general category and no one able to get admission at cutoff marks.

production engineering has better scope than rubber and plastic technology.
But the placements of Mit is better than Gct.
overall if you see then the placements of production engineering from Gct will be a better choice.
But if you think you have interest in rubber and plastic technology then you can go for it .
