Production Engineering
VJIT production engineering is good branch and I think you will get admission in your category. For open seats it is difficult to get admission.
Hello Anadi Sajeev,
Some are the colleges that offering ms in production engineering at Europe are
Dublin City University, Ireland
University West, Sweden
And there are some university that offering thermal and other manufacturing engineering.
Hello
Industrial engineering is the branch of engineering that concerns the development, improv
ement, implementation and evaluation of integrated systems of people, knowledge, equipment, energy, material and process. Industrial engineers typically use computer simulation, especially discrete event simulation, for system analysis and evaluation. From delivery/logistics companies to eCommerce sites to manufacturing companies to textile industrial to F.M.C.G companies everyone needs them. Industrial engineers are mainly responsible for the proper and the most efficient interaction of 4Ms: Man, Material, Machine and Method (which every organization needs). In short if you are an industrial engineer, you are like a diamond in the human resource market. There is no dearth of jobs.
The mission of production department is to develop technically competent, socially committed and disciplined manufacturing engineers with creative ability, innovative thinking and managerial skill to manufacture quality products for the benefit of the mankind. The top recruiters for production engineers include National Thermal Power Corporation, Indraprastha Gas Limited, Aditya Birla, Cairn India, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries and Sterlite Industries.
Job profiles available for industrial and production engineers are as follows:
Plant Engineers
Manufacturing Engineers
Quality Engineers
Process Engineers and Industrial Managers
Project Management
Manufacturing, Production and Distribution Ergonomics and Human Factors
Root cause analysis and process improvement
Make/Buy Analysis and Cost Estimation. I would have gone for Industrial engineering in ceg but the choice is totally yours. Make calculated moves and whatever you choose both are really good courses.
All the best.
Hello Megha. Assuming that you are talking about GATE, so yes you can apply for that but being from production engineering you have only 1 option that is mtech. So good luck.
Hi dear,
Hope you are doing well!
And congrats for getting such a good rank in JEE mains.
Now let's go through your question.
As you know that the word cut off marks in JEE Mains means the minimum marks that a student should get to be eligible for getting admissions in different universities/colleges to pursue education.
The COT cutoff for GENERAL as per as mains is as follows:
Production Engineering(Sub category - GEN)
is around 72,397.
Production Engineering(Sub category - AF )
is around 1,59,201.
Hope it helps!
Thank You & All the best!
Hello Ram,
The cutoff for Production engineering in MIT in 2018 was around 2240(opening)-5493(closing) in OC category. If your community is BCM, you may have some chances of getting Production engineering in MIT, in case the cutoffs drop as compared to last year(which was 9473 under BCM community).
You can predict your college based on TNEA rank from:

Dear Aspirant,
Choice of brach depends upon your interest. If you like civil engineering and its aspects like building some infrastructure or if you are more into PWD jobs or you want to become a contractor then CIVIL engineering is good for you. There are, in fact, a lot of government jobs in CIVIL engineering. Chose CIVIL if you want government jobs in the future or if you want to open a construction company.
Production, on the other hand, is a rather new branch and is diversification of mechanical on one specific side. Production has a lot of jobs in private sectors in companies like HERO, ASHOK LEYLAND, etc. If you are interested in such things then go for production. Also, production has a lot of advantage in GATE - PSU jobs as competition is less than MECHANICAL.
So if you want to go to the GATE side or private jobs then go for production.
Hope this helps.
