My son is born in karnataka and passed his std 10th and 12th from karnataka board. but he has domicile of Maharashtra. i have done my education about16 years in Karnataka. is my son eligible to apply for 85% state quota in Karnataka?

The eligibility criteria for Karnatak State quota seats are:

  • He/she must have passed Class 10 and Class 12 from an institute located in Karnataka. Also, he/she must have studied for a period of seven years from a government school located in Karnataka

In order to be eligible for state quota seats in Tamil Nadu,


-a candidate needs to be a native of Tamil Nadu


Or


- should have studied in Tamil Nadu from class 6th to 12th.


There is no restriction to any board students.

As we go through previous year's (2019) cut-off then it shows that in 2019 the lowest cut-off marks was 528 for St John Medical College, Bangalore under 85% state quota for General category and we saw an increase of around 25-30 marks in institutional cut-offs in 2020.

Yes, you will still get benefits under the state quota. As per the norms students who have completed their secondary or senior secondary education from Delhi are eligible to fall under state quota. Moreover since you are a permanent citizen of Delhi, you can submit proofs like birth
