Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore
Hi there
Both the Colleges are one of the best. They are equally good in terms of placements and facilities. But BMS College of Engineering Basavanagudi, Bangalore is slightly more better than MSRIT.
Placements : The placements aree too good. Most of the students, maybe around 95% who appear for placements gets placed. Amazon, Google and many other companies visits the campus. The software developers, web developer, managing and many other posts are offered. Around 80% of the students get the internship, and it is mandatory for everyone to have 2-3 internships in their profile. The highest package offered is around 23 Lacs. The average package is 6 Lacs.
Infrastructure : The college campus is Wi-Fi enabled for the students to study. They have a 5-floor library for e-learning, reading arrangements, and books. The medical facilities are available. Quality of food is good. The classrooms are well maintained.
Faculty : The faculty members are friendly and support our activity in curricular and extracurricular activities. Labs, presentations were used along with the traditional way of teaching. The industry exposure is too good because they have many workshops and field visits and also they have separate technical fest for 3 days. The curriculum is practical and matches the current industry requirements.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
Hi Munna,
Both the colleges are equivalently good as far as academics is concerned with esteemed faculty and good curriculum. But MSRIT involves comparatively more extra-curricular activities than SJCE. Other than that not much differences in other aspects. The campus environment at SJCE is more study focussed however in MSRIT it's a bit chilled out.
Good Luck

When it comes to MSRIT its a very diverse college
CS in PES may have a higher regard and more value in terms of placements and salary but all that the teaching staff are very strict yet knowledgeable .Wheras,MSRIT has its own set of perks such as the student life, the faculty and the overall college atmosphere
so,i suggest you pick CS in PES.
Hello Varun
In most of the colleges across India, the syllabus for CS and IT branch of Engineering is almost the same.
CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) and IT (Information Technology) are merely the same. CSE is ancient and the newer version is IT. Computer professionals use a lot of data. The processed data is called information. So they opened up a new branch called Information Technology.
As far as universities are concerned, CSE and IT will have almost the same subjects through out all the semester exams with only one or two subjects differing in each semester.
As far as career opportunities are concerned, they don’t separate CSE and IT. In their requirements they will usually mention as B.E/B.Tech (CSE/IT).
Dear Aspirant,
I understand your concern and I am here to help you regarding your query !!
To be honest, both the colleges which you have mentioned are the top most colleges in South India. The placements are really good in these colleges and most of the jobs offered are programming jobs and related to coding and stuff. I personally advice you to go for MS. Ramaiah in terms of both placements and education and the faculty is also well trained and experienced. Whereas, Sastra has got good placements too, but i prefer MS. Ramaiah in these two colleges. Feel free to ask us to help you regarding your queries and clarifications.
Hope this helps !!
All the very best !!
