hi, my son is interested to pursue career in AI and robotics.. will taking E& C branch in b.tech help him to pursue his career? if not please suggest the branch?

Ankita parida 27th Jul, 2020

Hi,

Already your son had chosen the right department I.e electronics & communication

It will also support him a lot .few colleges have a special branch like "Robotics engineering". and if his college had no such departments then tEC branch is good.

In order to create his own robot and all, first of all, he has to learn two basic computer language that is C & C++. So that further he can command on Arduino, this is the first basic two languages he had to command on that after that he may join some private coaching for robot building where he can find his suport .

Before choosing any coaching center make sure about the coaching that they must organise some robotic competition and well known organization.

After getting a few commands on this field ask him to build his own club at college as a robotic club by permission of college head and other members so that there college may participate in inter college robotic competition  .with the help of college.

Thank you

Hope you got your answer.

All the best.

what is the minimum cutoff to join robotics course in psg college Coimbatore

Koyel Bagchi 1st Aug, 2020

Hello,

Psg college of coimbatore is a well known college at all. They provide a skillful course on robotics and also other streams. Though the cut off's are changed every  year. There are some key points for the cut offs like the seats availability, the question difficulty level etc. Though as per the last year records for generals the cut off rank is near about 8k and for sc it is 35k, for obc it is 9130.

Hope for the best.

Thank you.

which another brench of engineering has good scope in future other than cs nd AI or robotics?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 17th Aug, 2020

hi,

see there is several branches of engineering , however all stream has their distinct job scope and career options. right now people are focusing more on computer science domain since it has good job prospect in todays market. however its not that other courses of engineering has no value, a world can not imagine with out the electrical power or mechanical strategies to make life more easy or comfortable. so you have to select the course as per your interest which is quite difficult to relate for a 12th pass candidates. however the major and core engineering streams are,

mechanical engineering

electrical engineering

civil engineering

electronics and communication engineering

computer science engineering

above mention streams are core stream and you may do specialization on other related stream once you completed your bachelors.

however electronics and communication engineering is next most sought stream right after cse.

hope it would help.

Will Mechatronics engineering be a good choice in btech to pursue robotics engineering in future?

rehan18alam Student Expert 17th Aug, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

If you are willing to go for masters in robotics and want to do bachelor in mechatronics then this will be a good choice as mechatronics can be considered as a parent branch of robotics with a wide spectrum, however, if you are solely interested in robotics, then I suggest you must look for colleges with robotics as a bachelor course as this will save you time and you'll learn specifics about robotics if that is where your interest lies.

Hope this helps.
