Sir i got 56% in PCM and 61.9% overall from Bihar State Examination Board... Is this %tage will affect my rank in comedk examination 2019???

Shubham Kumar 3rd Apr, 2019

NO, COMEDK ranking is based on COMEDK UGET and not on your 12th Score. For appearing in the exam you just have to fulfill certain criteria. you must have appeared in second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or any equivalent exam as recognized by State/ Central Government with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. and must have to pass with a minimum of 45% aggregate. It's just the criteria you have to fulfill for the admission, and this is not going to affect your ranking. So just relax and prepare for your exam and score well.

Can I get admission to RV COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING without any entrance

ruchika.chauhan Expert 17th Jan, 2019

Hello Sanjeet

If you are asking about admission to B.E courses offered by RV College of Engineering, admission to 45 percent of the seats (out of the total seats) are filled by the Common Entrance test conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), 30% of seats are filled through common entrance test conducted by private mangements association (COMED-K) and 25% by management. All the seats are filled through merit.

If you are seeking admission in M.Tech programmes, you will have to appear for Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE). PGCET test is also conducted by the state authorities for admission to PG courses.

GATE/PGCET (KEA) entrance examination quota (only for Karnataka students) is 80% and Management Quota is 20%.

Good Luck!

Is there direct application process for Cs engineering

Shivam Gautam 28th Mar, 2019
Hello Dear

Yeah dear, definitely there is a Management quota in the RV as well. Since across all the private institutions there are the admission based on management seat as well. Across many private institutions in India they have some quota in the management domain also like it will be some what range of 10-20% among all the seats. In the RV as well there is the management seats as well, for that you have to reach with the respective person belonging of the college management such that they may help you in that and the tution fee will be based upon your marks scored in the COMEDK as well your marks scored in the Class 12th & the branch in which you wish to enter in.

Shivam Gautam 25th Mar, 2019
Hello Dear

See the syllabus of all the entries exam is similar for the engineering domain which you will going to give after the completion of your class 12th, you have to go through with the JEE mains syllabus throughouly such that you will be able to cover all the syllabus of entrance exam like COMEDK, SRMJEEE , VITEEE, WBJEE and other Entrance exams. So better go with the JEE mains syllabus as well the same preparation inorder to fetch the good score in the COMEDK entrance exam.

What is the rank needed for RV college in k cet and COMEDK?

Vaishnavi Raghavan 23rd Mar, 2019

Hello Piyush,

I've provided enough details regarding cutoff to save you plenty of time looking around. Assuming you already know enough about the two exams, I'll just mention important bits to know the difference between the two exams better.

  • Number of applicants in COMEDK'18: 72,152 (against 20,000 seats, out of which 18733 are reserved for engineering)
  • Number of applicants in KCET'18: 1,98,639 (against 19942 seats, out of which 16942 are reserved for engineering)

Both exams are different in the following ways:

  • More competition in KCET, compared to COMEDK.
  • Tough COMEDK, easier to get a good rank, whereas the opposite is true for KCET.
  • COMEDK colleges more expensive than KCET (this is because COMEDK has more private affiliation) [₹53,460 (KCET seat) and ₹1,83,600 (COMEDK seat)]
  • Reservations for SC/ST/OBC high in KCET, more seats for GEN in COMEDK.
  • Outsiders not allowed to write KCET, whereas COMEDK is all-India EE.

Keeping the above points in mind, let's look at the cutoffs.

Generally, the closing rank in KCET for RVCE:

  • Civil: 3354
  • CSE: 573
  • ECE: 798
  • EE: 622
  • ME: 584

Now, COMEDK for RVCE:

  • Civil: 3199
  • CSE: 180
  • ECE: 390
  • EE: 732
  • ME: 829

From the above tables, we can suppose that KCET which see a number of applicants higher than that of COMEDK, but yet latter has a similar cut off as KCET but for less number of candidates. Although one can't exactly tell what should be your rank to be able to get a seat in RV college of engineering as the last year cutoffs can't exactly predict your chances as the cutoffs are based on so many factors so it isn't ever constant.

But to be on safe side, its best if you have:

  • Civil: 2500 (COMEDK), 2700 (KCET)
  • CSE: 150 (COMEDK), 300 (KCET)
  • ECE: 300 (COMEDK), 300 (KCET)
  • EE: 600 (COMEDK), 500 (KCET)
  • ME: 700 (COMEDK), 500 (KCET)

This is only an approximation. If you manage, in both KCET and COMEDK, a rank less than 500, you'd have a definite chance for RVCE.

I hope this helps.
