It is very difficult to compare both because both are same. But ,as main campus of university Thanjavur is little bit better than src . you should join there where you feel easy and good.
Honestly in a core branch of engineering your expectations mustn't be very high about placements, you just work on your skills like english speaking ,engineering skills and confidence built up etc...
But still 50/120 is a really good ratio even if you are a average student you will definitely get
