can I get seat in sastra university with AIR 3644 rank in stream ?

Sumona Maiti 8th Sep, 2021

Hello,

SASTRA take admission for stream 1 it take admission based on 12th percentage and score of JEE mains and for  stream 2 based on the normalized aggregated marks +2 or its equivalent marks. This is for 30% of the total seat.

A first rank student of each board is considered to have obtained 100% mark and aggregate mark of all other students of the board is normalized with reference to that of the first rank student. For example, if the first rank is 97% and an applicant’s aggregate is 90% then the applicant’s normalized percentage is 92.78 (90/97 x 100).

I got b.tech ece in sastra university, thanjavur and I also got integrated m.tech software engineering in vellore institute of technology, vellore. iam so confused to choose the right option. In which course will I get highest placement. Can you please say the reason, pros, cons of the opted choice.

ginnisachdeva02_9364270 Student Expert 5th Sep, 2021

Hi Aspirant!

Both colleges provide good facilities such as labs, smart classrooms, library, hygienic food , etc. Faculty members are also highly skilled and experienced. The placement opportunities in both colleges are appreciable. I would suggest you to choose B.Tech ECE in Sastra University (if you are interested in this course) over Intergrated M.Tech in VIT. The chances of getting placed after B.Tech are much more than that of getting placed after any integrated degree as you will be specialized in a particular subject in integrated degree and most of the recruiting companies wants the candidate who are versatile and good learners. But integrated degree students  already complete the deep learning in a particular subject which makes them less versatile and less adaptable.

Hope it helps to clear your dilemma, thankyou!

is it worth of studying ece in src kumbakonam sastra University? How about the placements?

Koyel Bagchi 3rd Sep, 2021

Hello,

SASTRA UNIVERSITY is no doubt a very good University to have a good degree. The seat capacity of ECE department is very short here. So the competition is high. But the placement record is overall good here. In pandemic situation it is slightly hampered but overall it's good.

I got 55 %tile in jee mains can i eligible for sastra university.

Akanksha 27th Aug, 2021
Hello Aspirant

The admission in SASTRA University is based upon two streams:

Stream 1: 75% marks of class 12 boards and 25% marks of JEE mains is considered for ranking.
70% of the seats get filled with this stream.

If your class 12th percentage is around 90-95% and 80% in JEE Mains then you have good chances to get into SASTRA University.

Stream 2: Your rank is calculated based upon your class 12 percentage only.

30% seats get filled with this stream.
Since the number of seats is less will this stream, the competition is very high. To get into SASTRA through this stream, you need more than 95% in your class 12th boards.

- If you are applying to SASTRA University through Stream 1 then your marks are calculated as
12th percentage* 0.75+jee main mark * 0.25

Your marks are calculated out of 165. So as per your marks you will getting your merit number. If your merit number is less than the number of seats then you have good chances to get into SASTRA University.
-- As your JEE Mains percentile is less, you have no chances to get into top branches in SASTRA University through stream 1

Hope this helps
All the best

i had got 96 percentage in intermediate+2 and 76 percentile in jee mains did i have chance to get cse department seat in sastra university?

Harsha Sinha 26th Aug, 2021

Hi there,

If you belong to general category then unfortunately you chanches are bit low for your preferred branch in the specific college mentioned above. I would suggest if you are a fresher kindly take a drop and give the exam again and try to score a percentile of around 85 for this college and for NITs and other top college try to score 99.5+ percentile.

Still if you want to looks for options this year only you can use our tool
