Shanmugha Arts Science Technology Research and Academy, Thanjavur
SASTRA has secured 25th rank in nirf ranking in 2017 and this year it secured 31st rank. So it is good in nirf. To check regarding this you can refer the nirf website
https://www.nirfindia.org/engg
SASTRA University deserves NIRF ranking due to following reasons :
1.Lab facilities are second to none .
2. Sheer amount of research work which SASTRA incubates outnumbers most of the universities down south barring few (IIT MADRAS , NIT TRICHY , VIT VELLORE )
3. Faculty present in SASTRA are mostly doctorate or they are forced by the system which SASTRA follows religiously to pursue PHD .
Hello,
Be it Sastra University or any other the top branch in btech is definitely computer science and engineering. As it has many specialisations in it and you can study deep in any specific fields like artificial intelligence, cloud computing, ethical hacking, information storage. The choice is completely yours whether you are interested in it or not.
All the best.
Hey Rishu
As per the reviews by the students currently studying in Sastra the course curriculum taught to them is good with projects that are industry-Oriented. The syllabu is pretty much updated(so that it can go according to the development in technology ) hence I can say that the course is relevant to the current placement needs and industry requirements.

Hey,
There is no exact number for how many people applies for SASTRA through stream 1. Even the administration doesn’t mention about it publicly.
Perhaps you got this question in your mind because you are thinking about whether I can a get a seat in SASTRA or not!
No problem. Initially everyone thinks like this before counselling.
You need not to worry about the number of applications. You need to bother about your rank after the results were announced.
If your rank is less than 1500 in Stream 1(Jee main+inter marks), then there is a chance of getting seat in SASTRA. If the same is above 1500, then there is less chance.
If your rank is less than 1000 in Stream 2(only inter marks), then there is a chance of getting seat in SASTRA. If the same is above 1000, then there is less chance.
All the best!!!
