For 974 marks there is less chance to get cse seat obviously we can say no chance but if no one is applied for that you can get so apply 1st then attend for the counciling if you are lucky you can get but when I applied to sastra with 984 marks I got only Information technology seat.

Undoubtedly CSE is one of the most sought after engineering branch among engineering aspirant. And Sastra University is known for its CSE department. Sastra University is good for its computing braches which means undoubtedly sastra University is good for Computer science engineering, Information Technology and Information and communication Technology there are the best braches at satra university as i can say that IT and CSE are better branches than ECE by comparing a lot of factors like placements, packages, pacement Percentage,  internships and many other factors but it is difficult to get into Computer science engineering  and Information Technology  than Electronics and communication engineering and most difficult is getting into Computer Science Engineering as it has a highest cutoff compared to remaining others and finally the choice is yours and what you wish to get into but tou should also consider that in what branches you can get into by your score or rank.

SASTRA University invites application via two streams:

Stream 1 - 70% of the seats are allotted on the basis of JEE Main scores and normalized scores of the 10+2 or equivalent exam. The combined scores are used to prepare the rank list and candidates are invited for admission on the basis of the rank list.

Stream 2 - 30% of the seats are to be filled through stream 2. Only 10+2 (or equivalent) normalized scores are considered.

There is no standard cut off for admissions in SASTRA. Every year the competition rises to a certain level and hence the cut off. But for reference, we may see the previous years’ report to get into CSE branch. The rank might be around 400 in stream 1 and around 150 in stream 2.

If you are aiming at CSE, the rank must not be more than 500 in stream 1. But you may stand a chance here as you aren't that far from the range.

If we consider admission through stream 2, SASTRA attracts the creamy layer of students with 97-98% marks in 12 ^th class.

Counselling would be started from the first week of August,2020. You should keep checking your mail for the counselling dates.

There is no cutoff in sastra. It solely depends on your rank in sastra's merit list which will be uploaded after a while. For cse the rank must be not more than 500. Only then, u will have a chance. All this is for stream 1. Coming to stream 2 ur board percentage should be more than 98.6%. (i.e rank of 150 )
