Downsides of SIT

1. Situated in Tumkur, for a north Indian, who has never been to south India. Tumkur can surprise you.
2. Strict curriculum and discipline, way too much restrictions.

Upsides of SIT

1. Not situated in Bangalore, no killer traffic, still enjoys good weather, near by hills , where you can go and hangout.
2. If you are brat, although little bit sincere, this college will change you and make you ready for outside world

Hello Abhay, Nitte Meenakshi is a far better college for CSE course in comparison to SIT Tumkur. The cutoffs of nitte Meenakshi is very low that SIT which suggests that you willl get a better study environment in this college. Also, the fact that nitte Meenakshi is located in Bangalore gives it an advantage of exposure to the corporate world.

Hope you are doing well. Yes you can get a seat for Mechanical Engineering in Siddaganga Institute Of Technology Tumkur with this rank. There is a high chance for you to get in first round itself. If not, then surely you will get in second round. Previous year, the cutoff rank for Mechanical Engineering in SIT Tumkur was 44776 after second round of seat allotment. Even this year, it is expected to be the same or it will decrease slightly. I hope you got the point after reading this answer.

And the institute releases list of cut-off for each course after the declaration of  COMEDK Result every year.

It's seems to get CSE a bit difficult in SIT as per as your rank. Though you can get these branches:

• Industrial Engineering and Management

Hello Pratyush, The best college for CSE course among these two would be MVIT as the cutoff for MVIT is less compared to NIE and SIT which suggests that there would be better students in that college and thus you would get a better environment to study. Also, the placement record of MVIT is a little better than NIE as it is located in Bengaluru city and thus more companies visit there for placements.

You have got a good rank if you belong to reservation quota. You are within the least rank required to get into any branch in SIT ( cut off for all the branches is above 24k in 2018) so you hold a good chance to get into SIT.

Talking about pes South campus, cut off starts from 28k in 2018. So you have possibilities in getting a seat there too. Good luck!
