Hiii Chandru!!!! I am sorry to say that no an arts student cannot become a software engineer because you cannot convert your stream from arts to science although you are very much able to go vice versa. Becoming a software engineer requires the students to be from science stream.

The salary offered to any employee is usually expressed in per annum(p.a.) i.e. anually and it varies for different companies.
You might check the offer letter whether the saalry details given is monthly or anually. Usually salary of 3.6 lacs is given anually.

Yes the software field is and will be the best in the future. We cannot deny technology as it is a major part in our life. The graph of the software field will never go down . But you may know that mostly all the people want to learn technology.
