Hi,
Candidates need to have a minimum score in one of the MBA Entrance Exams namely: GMAT [minimum 550] or GRE [minimum 300] or CAT [minimum 80 percentile] in order to be eligible.
GMAT: Verbal
Entrance Test: Sectional
An applicant should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent (10+2+3) from a recognized university. Students in the final year of graduation can also apply.
Work experience is not mandatory for this program. Fresh graduates and those with up to 5 years of work experience can apply.
At the application stage the candidate needs to opt for two specializations. Applicants who are not shortlisted for the first option maybe considered for the second option.
Based on their profiles, the candidates are sorted into two shortlists; first phase and second phase shortlist.
Applicants are shortlisted in the first phase list based on their profile. The second shortlist is based on their profile along with their performance in the entrance tests.
These shortlisted candidates go through two rounds of group interviews. Final Merit List is based on a composite score, which takes into account the candidate’s academic record, entrance test scores, relevance of work experience (if any) and performance in the two rounds of interviews.
Hope this helps
Wish you luck

The percentage of commerce students in IIMs is 18%. The ratio was 23% in 2018,21 percent in 2019 for Commerce students.
All other colleges also have the almost same ratio. But it is true that whether you are from a commerce, science or art background at the end you'll be tested based on your skills and your performance in the entrance exam.

You do have a great number of students having an average academic record in the above Top Management Institutes as well as at IIMs. Some even have a Poor Graduation Score, but again they have the qualities and communication skills to impress at an interview and perform brilliantly in CAT, XAT, NMAT and other Top MBA Entrance Examinations, to overweigh their Poor Past Academic Record.
I personally know one of my seniors at college, having around 80-90% in 10/12 and a 7 CGPA in Graduation, ended up with 99.91 in CAT and Cracked IIML and a couple of more Good IIMs.
Hey princy,
Hope you are doing good, yes you can get in SP jain without giving CAT exams but you have to appear in GMAT exam because SP jain accepts only GMAT or CAT exams so you have to appear in one of them. No you can't get in SP jain on the basis of academic result.
