I have applied for NMAT but havent applied for B-Schools along with that like Narsee Monjee & SP jain. What should i do now?

anirudha vats 26th Feb, 2021

Hey.

NMAT is just an exam that you need to give to be eligible for admission into top B schools accepting NMAT score. But to be eligible for admission you need to fill the form of the respective college separately.

You can check on the official website of the respective college to see if the last date of registering is still left.

I have mentioned the links of few college below you can refer to that,

https://www.spjimr.org (https://www.spjimr.org/)

https://www.nmims.edu/

Hope that helps.

Thank you

can sp jain college accept students outside Maharashtra

ayanmukherjee045 16th Feb, 2021

Dear aspirant ,

Yes so Jain accept students from outside Maharashtra. Note if you would tell me which course are you planning to take then it would be more beneficial for me to interact with you. But for engineering , no students are allowed in government colleges. They can only take part in private colleges.

I have 89 percentile in cat, 91 in 10th, 89 in class 12, 83.7 in graduation, 3 years work ex in reputed MNC in same profile i have applied, what are my chances of conversion?

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 5th Jan, 2021

Hi Dear,

SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) offers admission to students having scorecard of Common Aptitude Test (CAT), or Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) or GMAT. The final shortlisting is however done on the basis of the composite score of Academic record + Candidate’s profile + Relevant work experience (optional) + Entrance test scores (XAT/ CAT/ GMAT) + Performance in the two rounds of group interviews. If we go by previous year trend, then you have decent chances of conversion if you perform good in GDPI. However, since competition is really tough and a huge number of student apply for admission in SP jain Mumbai, so you need to perform really good to convert the college.

Good Luck

Expected percentile above 92 in CAT 2020 however sectional in VARC around 77 percentile. Consistently 97%, 87% and 72% in 10th, 12th, BCOM. Cleared CA. Can I get a call from SP Jain

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 9th Dec, 2020

You do have decent chances. If you look at the admission process for SP Jain, the various factors that determine your admission in SP Jain are:

  • Overall Profile
  • Academic background
  • Work experience
  • Entrance Scores
  • Versatility and Achievements

Admissions at SP Jain are based purely on merit. While applying, you need to choose one among their offered specialisations in Finance, Information Management, Marketing and Operations, Supply chain.

Academic background: Candidates should have consistent  and strong Academic background. Marks scored in 10th, 12th, and Graduation are considered.

Work experience: Work experience is not mandatory. Candidates with 0-5 years of experience can apply for this programme. Relevant work experience after graduation will be considered. Training and Internships are not considered.

CAT percentile: For 2020, the sectional cut offs for CAT have been as follows:

QA: 75

DLR: 75

VARC: 75

Overall: 85

Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their:

Consistency of Academic record

Relevant Work experience

Versatility and Achievements

The selection list is based on a composite score, which takes into account the applicant profile, academic record, CAT scores, relevance of work experience if any and performance in the two rounds of group interviews. Because you havent mentioned work experience, assuming that you do not have any, with an Academic profile of what you have mentioned, you have decent chances for a call from SP Jain.

Hello aspirant,

95 percentile is quite good percentile. IIM call doesn't depend only on CAT score. There are various other factors also:

1. Stream
2. Profile
3. Academics

Even some students who didn't have good academic even get call on the basis of their profile.

All IIM want diversity in their campus .So there is good chance for you for getting call from IIM.

HOPE THIS ANSWER IS HELPFUL FOR YOU.

I am expecting 96-98 percentile in CAT 2020 based on my mocks. I have 89.8% in 10th and 71% in 12th and 68% in M.Tech Integrated Biotechnology (No work ex). Are these scores realistic to convert new IIMs and other colleges like MDI, SP JAIN, IIT etc?

Mohit Gupta 29th Sep, 2020

Hello Aspirant

Congratulations for your mock tests score.

The cut-off for top institutions depends upon your background, if you are an Engineer, you are required to score 99 percentile for top 10 colleges of India for MBA which includes IIM A, IIM B , IIM C etc. And if you are from non engineering background then 97-98 percentile also may works for you (general category).

As your 10th and 12th score is also good, you have great Chance of getting Interview calls from old IIMs and definitely from new IIMs too, also Colleges like IMT Ghaziabad, MDI gurgaon will definitely gives you an interview call if you apply for them with 98 percentile.

As currently you are scoring 96-98 percentile, try more hard and don't panic in exam, you may score more than 99 in actual exam.

I hope this information would be helpful for you.

All the best for your bright career ahead.

Can you tell me how much percentile required to get into SP Jain, NITIE Mumbai, and XLRI? Is there any chance of mine getting into an IIMs or any other goverment colleges if yes my academic records are X - 60.8% , XII - 63.6% And UG - 72.77% .

rajaman9300 Student Expert 15th Aug, 2020

Basically to get admission in top IIM'S you will have to get at last 99 percentile or above, still there is no guarantee that you will achieve it.

Yop IIM's follows two different set of rules. One for Initial calling and otehr for Final Selection. For Initial calling they give 35%-40% weightage to your previous credentials and 60 to 65 to CAT score.

For Final calling they give 10% -20% only and remaining is given to GD, PI and CAT score.

For XLRI you will have to XAT. For SP Jain you need 90-92.

All the best!!
