SRM is definitely known to be the better university. It has an AAA+ rank. It also provides better campus and hostel facilities. While Guru nanak university is an affiliated college,  SRM is a deemed university.  The Ramapuram Campus is the best in Chennai.  Also SRM has better placement

Both are pretty good universities but if you're low on budget you should choose SRM else choose Manipal. Placements of both colleges are pretty good.

As per previous cutoffs, the closing rank for mechatronics is 42000. So, try to attend all the counsellings sessions conducted by the university. The cutoffs may chnage from year to year. Use links https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/srmjeee-cutoff for your reference.
