*For Kattankulathur campus : Minimum 60% aggregate in PCM   

*For Ramapuram, Vadapalani and NCR, Delhi campuses : Minimum 50% aggregate in PCM

*Closing rank is around 70000.

Both colleges SRM and THAPAR are good academic wise. But Placement wise Thapar is good as it has great placement record for ECE. Considering fees then Thapar University has lower fees than SRM. So if you have interest in ECE go to THAPAR

It is correct that SRM is not AICTE approved. But it is UGC approved so a university needs either UGC or AICTE  approval. Therefore B. Tech from SRM is valid.
