Software Engineering is a unique course at SRM and is quite good. The average salary for SRM is around 4LPA with a few students getting in excess of 7-8 LPA.
Well if you can afford it then it is good. It has a large list of companies that come to it for taking the students for campus placements. It has good infrastructure and also has a good alumni network. The industrial exposure is also good. Overall it's a total package.
Well I would recommend you to drop if you think you can get dtu/nsit in the next jee exam. If you don't wish to waste your 1 year, You should take up Amity Jaipur. SRM sonepat is not recommended. Last thing you can do is to wait for sliding round
