As per overall rating IGDTU is best among these college. SRM University-Chennai Campus is also good college but not that much. You can put VIT as third option.

There are two aspects. What your son or you want. Vit or Srm are top private engineering colleges of our country whereas Coep is government college.
If government college is priority, with urge of learning good application of engineering, then Coep is better choice. If you want placements only then

in the future if your son is eligible for getting seat in IITs,Vitee,SRM or NITs take him in there while in case of branch selection out of my suggestion i suggest you that kindly allow him take make is own choice
