its really cool your son got 98!!
in the future if your son is eligible for getting seat in IITs,Vitee,SRM or NITs take him in there while in case of branch selection out of my suggestion i suggest you that kindly allow him take make is own choice of branch as i have seen many friends are suffering for studing for not interested branch so Mr Bora guide him but allow to make his choice.
as per my suggestion all the core branches are good but personnaly i suggest is ECE and IT
