SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai
Greetings dear aspirant
Firstly, congrats on successful completion of your SRMJEEE Examination. The cut-off trends keeps changing every year and it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc. Getting a CSE seat is getting highly tough these days as the demand is very much. But, with a rank around 5800, you can very easily secure a CSE, ECE, or any other seat in SRM KTR Campus as the closing rank was around 9,500 - 10,500 for CSE core branch in SRMJEEE 2016. So, just apply to their counselling process and secure a seat easily.

Helo aspirant,
No ,there is no chance to get CSE branch for the rank 17735 .The cutoff changes every year depending on the no.of candidates appeared for the exam. And you may get CSE general there is 50% chance so try it dont be disappointed if not try for jee main and try other colleges according to your IPE marks and jee main percentile. But you may have a less chance. Best of luck.
Hope this will be helpful for you.
ALL THE BEST.

Dear Aspirant,
First congrats for your achievement and yes you will definitely get CSE in the main campus of SRM as the closing rank for the CSE is 10K, you just have to order your preferences in correct manner.
And for taking admissions here first you need to think about the options you have, like if you have achieved good score in JEE then it will be more better if you choose your college from JEE counselling. Location also depends like if you are not too far from SRM then it will be worth to take admission here, as SRM has the best record in terms of placement ( especially for CSE branch ) and infrastructure, there is not a single lie. So if you have better options other then please consider that one.
Hi Aspirant!
No doubt you can easily get CSE in SRM Chennai (KTR campus) easily with the mentioned rank. But as you are confused between VIT and SRM for CSE, I would suggest you to choose SRM , Chennai even if you are getting CSE in VIT Vellore campus (main campus). It is because you are getting it under 5th category and it will cost you much higher than CSE in SRM Chennai. For the placement opportunities, I would say that both SRM and VIT offer good number of placement opportunities to students, thus you do not need to pay 5 times the actual fee of CSE in VIT.
Hope I answered your query, thankyou!
Hello candidate,
If you have appeared for the SRM joint entrance examination of the SRM JEE examination and have got your results and are allowed to take part in counselling rounds then your provided with the option to fill your log choices in a priority order so that the council can decide you a perfect sheet in any of the colleges offering admissions.
The dates for the choice filling options are also released by the council itself and students have to fill up their choices and submit it very carefully because once submitted the log choices and preference options cannot be changed, thereafter.
Hope you got my point.
If you have any further queries feel free to post it here!!

Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you as this totally depends upon the college authorities that they disclose the number of remaining seats. As in many colleges the remaining seats are not disclosed and only individual calls are being sent to the eligible candidates who have appropriate ranks.
Dear Devrath,
Congratulations for your rank. Obviously it is a very decent rank.
Now, If we look at previous year cutoff trends then we will find that the Computer Science and Engineering seat with specialization in artificial Intelligence and Machine learning in SRM main campus has been given to students whose rank is some thousands rank below your rank, and you have very slight chance to get CSE with these specialization in the main campus.
i will recommend you for cyber security branch and you will most probably get it with the rank you have mentioned.
Other branches that you can also get there are mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical & electronics engineering etc.
In case you want to know more about the cutoff of SRM colleges in detail, you can follow the link below.
