St. Xavier's College, Burdwan provides seperate hostel for both girls and boys outside the campus. Girl’s hostel is at a distant location but the college has arranged buses for the students coming from the hostel. Hostel seats are few and therefore the college usually puts a hostel merit list. As per this merit list, seats are allotted. Various private hostels can also be found nearby the college if one fails to get into the college hostel.

Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you it totally depends upon the vacant seats if seats are vacant then merit list comes and if seats are not vacant then merit list do not comes. There is no fixed number of merit list in  St. Xavier's College Ranchi .

It would be better if you contact the concerned authorities regarding this issue directly. However, if you have uploaded the documents correctly, it must not cause a problem. To be on a safer side, its best to contact the statutory body which is behind the admission process.

St. Xaviers take admission in both merit and entrance based, if you want to take admission in BA, Bcs, Bcom then your admission will be done on the merit based and if you take admission in BMM and BMS then you need to give the entrance exam.

As you wanted to take admission in Bcom so your admission will be done on the merit based. You need minimum 45% in your 10+2 to be eligible for the application form.

You can apply the form for B.com only in offline mode i.e. by filling up and submitting a form, and through an interview with the Vice Principal of the Commerce section. You can easily get the application form in the office by paying the amount of Rs. 320.

St. Xavier college Kolkata  will choose students for the UG programme based on their academic performance and an interview.

For BSc Mathematics or physics the qualifying criteria is

• Candidates that have passed the 12th grade with a PCM stream. A minimum of 60% on the qualifying exam is required.
• The college will publish a merit list based on the results of the most recent exam.
• Candidates who have been shortlisted will be eligible for a college interview.
• On the college's official website, the final merit list of selected candidates will be posted.

With your percentage there is a chance that you will get there, but I would personally suggest you should refer different colleges as well because there cut-off also goes high as per the number of applicants.

The college offers a variety of courses. For taking admission in BA HONOURS course the candidate must be eligible-

Candidate must secure minimum of 50% aggregate in 10 + 2 higher secondary education from a recognized college/ university.

Minimum age must be 17 years of age. The subjects in 10 + 2 higher secondary must could be biology, physics, chemistry or equivalent as recognized by the university. Candidates who have passed 12th boards with a minimum aggregate of 50% in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Maths & English as their core subjects from any recognized institute is eligible for applying to St. Xavier's College, Kolkata to study Bsc in Physics.

Now, the cut off is usually around 480-482 marks out of 500 or you can say students who get 90% to 92% have a better chance of securing a seat in this college. If you are a Christian candidate, then you might have a better chance of getting admissions because Christians are given more priority over students of other religion. However, the cut off for Christian students too won't be lower than 85% to 87%. Having said that, the cut off may vary significantly this year due to the confusion in board result so if you are eligible then please apply for the course & wait for the counselling process to begin.
