I got 38% in my graduation and in 10th 56 and in 12th is 75% marks. Is Im eligible for banking exams like sbi po, ibps po?

Shubham Kumar Gupta 20th Aug, 2019
Hello Priyanka, Greetings!

Yes, you are eligible as there is no minimum percentage required for this exam.

Nowadays recruitment as PO through IBPS or recruitment in SBI as PO demands no minimum passing percentage in graduation. One simply needs to be a graduate from any recognised university. But, some banks have started conducting their separate examination and demand a minimum passing percentage.

But again, it depends on the exam for which you are appearing. But, till now no minimum percentage is required for IBPS PO or SBI PO.

Thank you, hope this helps.

I have done my diploma and then I. Have done my degree m I eligible for sbi po

Vishal Tiwari Student Expert 6th Aug, 2019

Hello Namrata

Yes definitely you are eligible for banking service like sbi probationary officer if you have completed your graduation. Because sbi po has only eligibility criteria that you should have passed your graduation successful. Remember diploma alone would not make you eligible for banking sector exam.

Good luck for your future :)

Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.

. Hey !

As per the eligibility criteria for SBIPO 219,Candidate should indicate the percentage obtained in Graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application. Where CGPA/ OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into percentage and indicated in the online application. If called for interview, the candidate will have to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority inter alia stating the norms of the University regarding conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate in terms of these norms.

Calculation of Percentage: The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all the semester(s)/ year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours/ optional/ additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/ Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

tanmoymunshi1999_9606691 Student Expert 4th Aug, 2019

Hey Arnab,

No worries, Earlier the candidate who has completed 12th with 60% from any stream was allowed to appear for the Clerk Exam. But as per the new notification the Candidate needs to have passed a Graduation Degree.

Age- 20 to 28 years and the relaxation is same as above mentioned. There are no percentage criteria and 10th and 12th marks are not considered for the Bank Exams.

Hope that helps

all the best

I am a B.Tech in Mining Engineering. I am not interested in mining jobs. Am I eligible for SSC CGL or SBI PO and jobs after clearing them ?

Kshitij raj 12th Jul, 2019

Hello Hirak , listen buddy for SSC CGL or SBI PO the only basic thing you need is that you should be graduate atleast. And as you will be holding your B.Tech graduate degree so you will be available for these kind of competitive Exams. Many Engineers who lacks in interest of their field or who do not get job opportunities Prefer preparing for SSC CGL or BANK PO kind of ccompetitive exams.

Hope this helps.
