What degrees i beed to became neurosurgeon??

Misbah Anjum N 25th Jan, 2020

Hello!

In order to become a Neurosurgeon in India,

  1. Write NEET exam to get admitted into a Medical college!
  2. MBBS is a basic degree required to become a doctor! It is a 5 and a half year course with 1 year of compulsory internship.
  3. In order to get into Master's program, NEET PG is common entrance exam.
  4. Specialization course takes about 3 years to complete!

Thus, after your +2, it takes up to 9 to 10 years to become a functional neurosurgeon in India! Which means that you will be about 28 years old when you can finally enjoy the perks of being a surgeon (if so)!

I want to know my strategy for 1 year neet preparation to score 620+ marks

Shivani Chaudhary 6th May, 2019

How to Get Maximum Score in NEET 2019 or in any other year?

  • For maximum score in NEET 2019, focus on time management and aim to become an expert in all the NEET topics. This can be only achieved by serious dedicated practice and solving NEET Level questions.
  • Don’t read from too many books or study materials. Quality over quantity matters. NCERT is your bible.
  • NEET examination will test your speed. You have to solve 180 questions in 180 minutes. So to score above 620 + in NEET, speed and accuracy is very important, which you can build by taking chapter tests, part syllabus tests and major tests.
  • You should aware of simple, basic concepts before knowing the complex ones. New concept delivered in a way that builds upon existing topics/concepts is easier to make sense of and retain. While solving questions, apply the tricks (mostly taught by your coaching teachers).
  • Resolve your doubts quickly. If attempting a question takes you 1–2 min, you should clear your doubts in 1–2 min itself. Use instance doubt clearance in CareerOrbits Course.
  • In the test, attempt that subject first in which you are most comfortable. During the NEET exam and before that in practice tests also, do not let any question eat up your time. Skip the question as soon as you are nowhere close to the answer. Come back to these questions after you finished the whole paper once.
  • Give your best in remaining months. Study hard with consistency.

Listen friend, 620+ is a decent score. To achieve it any big coaching like Allen or Akash is not needed. The only thing required is smart work. Following smart work is required in the subjects:-

  1. Biology- To get 620+ Biology is very essential. Try to score 320+. It can be scored by just learning NCERT thoroughly and revising it repeatedly. Don't focus much on it throughout the year, just revise nicely in the last month's.
  2. Physics- It is the most important and rank deciding subject. Practice “different types of questions” instead of wasting time on doing many questions of the same type. Practicing only solved examples of Cengage Physics book are more than sufficient for AIIMS too. So, by this you'll score 130 approx.
  3. Chemistry-
    • Work more on concepts of Organic chemistry.
    • NCERT is more than sufficient for Inorganic chemistry.
    • Practice questions for Physical chemistry.
  • Do not practice questions from so many books and follow your teacher.

Best of luck for your exam. I hope you wil come up with flying colours.

Is MS a higher level course than MD?

Vidhita Sachdeva 1st May, 2019

Hello!

It can not be termed as "MS is a higher level course than MD". Both are postgraduation degrees with their own specializations. Their are differences between them, such as MS is a PG Degree in general surgery where as MD is a PG degree in general medicine. Both can be pursued after MBBS. The level of both the courses aren't different but MS is for some fields where more of surgical expertise and the skills are required. MD is non surgical but there are some branches where surgery can be a part of MD.

It is sometimes said that MS degree is slightly superior than MD, it is because the person who completes the MS becomes surgeon while the one completes MD becomes a physician. A physician cannot be a surgeon, the surgeon can work in place of a physician with more study of medicine. The surgeon can earn a lot more money than a physician, if he or she is good and skilled. Both the fields have good future prospects.

"" After completing M.B.B.S. from a Govt. Medical College would i be eligible to do surgery as a surgeon???"""

hemanthpachimadla 26th May, 2019

A Medical Degree has been never easy. MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) is the most popular and designated degree of doctors. These are the two bachelor degrees in one domain as the Bachelor of Medicine and the Bachelor of Surgery . This is the tradition of United Kingdom and many universities in various countries are following this tradition.

There are good job and career opportunities for the students after getting the degree in medical as a doctor. It is the professional field with 100% job placement . No one in the country, who has the MBBS degree and has no job.

An MBBS graduate may go for the PG degree programmes leading to the Domain M.D (Doctor of Medicine) or M.S (Master of Surgery) or M.Sc (Medical) etc.

After completing the MBBS degree successfully, there are two options for the students: either start their own venture or go for a job in the medical field. Students can also go for the government jobs as a doctor or join a private health firm. There are good future scopes in the field of medical.
