how an aspirant from kerala can apply for MBBS in Tamil Nadu.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 18th Oct, 2020

Hi

There are 2 quotas under which a seat is provided in Medical College through Neet examination

* 15 % All India quota

*85 % state quota

*For 15% all India quota:- all the students are eligible irrespective of the state they hold the domicile of.

*For 85 % state:- you need to be domicile of that state.

So, being a student of Kerala you can apply for medical colleges in Tamilnadu through all India quota but yes cut off marks under all India quota is relatively higher than that of Cut off marks under state quota

I got 499 in neet bc. is there any chance to get seat in govt or govt management in Tamil Nadu

theeanonymous 17th Oct, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

Based on your score , your overall predicted rank would be 52192 - 64342 Cutoffs vary with factors like the total number of seats available, number of students competing, the difficulty level of the exam etc. Hence it difficult to predict for sure but based on the previous year cutoff trend the expected range of marks for BC category for government colleges in TN would be minimum 480-500+ , for top ranked ones it can go up to 580-590+ due to this years competition and for private it would be 430-450+ may be fine. The BC cutoff does not differ much from general cutoffs. So go through the below article to see previous year college wise cutoffs:

Only when you attend the counselling you will know the exact scenario. Anyways you do have a fair chance.

Or use the college predictor tool to know your options:

My neet mark is 215. I am belong to BC category. Can I get siddha seat in Tamil Nadu?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 21st Oct, 2020

To be honest, 215 is a tad less score for a seat in Ayush courses even with OBC reservation. You will need atleast 450 and above. Compared to 2019, the NEET 2020 cut offs have changed considerably higher than expected. With the top score being 720 which is 19 marks greater than 2019's top score, the cut offs for almost all courses will go way higher. But if you have decided studying Medicine, you have to reappear for NEET in 2021 and score real good. That will be the only option because with this score, you cannot even get Private Medical Colleges. So you may have to consider appearing for NEET 2021. If you want to reappear for NEET 2021, you can prepare with the help of our NEET Knockout package: https://learn.careers360.com/knockout-neet-may/

Anurag Khanna 17th Oct, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

On such marks and category you have good chances of getting government seat in some Private medical colleges in Tamil Nadu under state quota according to previous year's cut-off. As we go through previous year's cut-off then it shows that you can get following colleges :-

  • Annapoorna Medical College and Hospital, Salem
  • Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, Perambalur
  • ESIC Medical College, K.K. Nagar, Chennai

And some more. You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-tamil-nadu

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous year's cut-off and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your marks, category, and state you can use NEET College Predictor:-

I got 463 marks in neet 2020,I am from Tamil Nadu.can I get a seat in MBBS?please answer mine :S

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 23rd Oct, 2020

Hi

It's quite difficult to predict that whether you will get  seat or not as  cut off marks/rank for medical colleges keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the examination etc.

But yes when we go through previous data then it suggests that with 463 marks , you have low chances for Government Medical Colleges but yes you have chances for Government quota seat in following  private medical college under Tamil nadu state quota which are listed below :-

*Stanley Medical College, Chennai

*Sree Moogambigai Institute of Medical Sciences, Kanyakumari

*Sri Muthukumaram Medical College and Hospital

*  Karpagam Faculty of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore

Above prediction is on the basis of past year data  but  cutoff keeps changing every year due to many factors as mentioned earlier, so to have a clear picture of the colleges in which you have chances and
to get the complete list of colleges in which you have chances, you can go through our college predictor at
