In placements Thapar is any day better than srm , they come 8 in terms of placement .

Coming to your question it is not necessary that everyone who apply for admission in Thapar University get a seat , for the admission in B-TECH programme the admission in Thapar University is purely based on the jee mains rank .

Hi there as per your jee mains percentile and this year jee mains cut off 2019 of thapar university for mechanical branch is 90.56 percentile in 3 round of the counselling so there is the probability of you to get this college . For more information you can vist this

Most of the seats for the Computer Science branch are filled very fast and are taken by candidates from Punjab Quota. The cutoff for outside Punjab students goes around 19k rank. But you can take any branch available and later it can be upgraded by a good CGPA

Clearly, this is not the case that everyone has got EIC. It is completely based on your marks in JEE mains. But don't worry your branch can be upgraded in further counseling sessions which will be done on the basis of you CGPA in your 1st and 2nd semester. 

It totally deepens upon the users applied in Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology for mode 2 .

My advice to you is wait till the cut of come out for and check website regularly.
