The UG engineering admission in Thapar University is granted on the basis of JEE Main score. The university only take those qualifiers of JEE Main who satisfy the eligibility criteria as well. The admission is awarded on the basis of All Indian Rank. The University prepares its own merit list of the rank holders and segregate them as Punjab and Outside Punjab Candidates.

So among the three institutes THAPAR and VIT are private colleges where as LNMIIT is non - profit institute under the government of Rajasthan. Placements are not that great in VIT as they show but its not bad either but in comparison to LNMIIT and THAPAR  it is not so good as the other two. LNMIIT and THAPAR have almost the same top placements. If you are really into coding LNMIIT is way better and in my opinion it is good for CSE department.

The course offered by VIT, Bhopal is BTech Electronics and Communication Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Cybernetics 4 yrs duration and Thapar Institute of engineering and technology, Patiala is BE Electronics Instrumentation and control engineering 4 yrs duration.

The fees for BTech is 7.83 Lakhs and BE is 15.05 Lakhs.

If you are more inclined towards Coding, learning programming, Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence then you can definitely choose BTech ECE at VIT, Bhopal but, if you are more interested into Engineering, Mathematics, industrial instrumentation, electronics, etc. then you should go with BE program at Thapar institute, Patiala. Both the fields are different choose according to your liking and interest.

For admissions in Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala  for B.E in Computer engineering the candidates have two ways.

• 70% of the total BE/BTech seats shall be filled on the basis of the percentile-based merit of JEE Main.
• 30% of the total BE/BTech seats shall be filled on the basis of merit of marks secured in 10+2 or equivalent examination

So you can either join through JEE main score or 10+2 level marks. Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Engineering is four years (8 Semester) full-time undergraduate engineering course offered by Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala and approved by AICTE.

Admissions to ME/M tech is via Gate entrance exams while admissions to other Master degree courses is based on merit. For BE/B tech admissions are through JEE main except Biotechnology where admissions are based on NEET score. For lateral entry an offline test is conducted by the university.
