Hello,
NIT Silchar is one of the best college in india, specially for mechanical branch, but it is mostly for UG Courses.I mean more job opportunities are for B.tech students.Placement for M.tech is not so good,if you are good in writing some good research paper and academics then you may get a job.But for a good job and confirmed placements mostly IIT's are choosed.Although NIT Silchar has good facilities, libray ,infrastructure and faculities. For getting a degree and good knowledge you may join this college. But is not very great incase of M.tech placement.I hope it helped
Hey,
Considering that the course would cost 8 lacs, it is not worthy. The placement scenario is not upto the mark. Few or no placements are being alloted. The teaching is not satisfactory. Not blaming the college, the need for thermal engineers in the society is less. Most of the companies, having lesser need for thermal engineers, would opt candidates from IITs, NITs.
Thank you and keep asking:)
you can check the last year AP PGECET cut off rank according to the categories & branches. From the given table, a candidate can get an idea about how the cut off will be this year.
Hello Aspirant
Though NIT Mizoram due it its remote location is often looked down upon, this place has it's own flavor in it. The major reasons why aspirants ignore this NIT without full information & analysis about it are :
· Temporary Campus, No PERMANENT CAMPUS yet
· Remote Location in North East
· Low Ranked (due to location)
· Not so high media coverages
· The "New NIT" tag
The faculty at NIT Mizoram is good. The teachers here are PhDs and those having a master’s degree are currently pursuing PhD.NIT Mizoram conducts many GIAN courses which you won’t find in any private institute. Earlier it conducted a GIAN course on Robot Operating System and is currently conducting 5 more courses on Maths and Electrical.
The placements of this NIT are improving over the years. The average package ranges to 4 lacs.
NIT Mizoram is a decent option for Mtech. You can also look for private onstitutes as they might offer you a better placement record.
Best of luck!
Hello Nilajan, hope you are doing good. The placements in the college are very good. 44 Lacs was the highest package offered. Average package went to 6-7 Lacs. Microsoft, vipro, JP morgan and many other good companies visited Thapar. Many were given paid internship as well. All in all the placements were very well.
