I got 82% in 12 can I get admission in good college of Delhi university

Ankita Tibrewal 29th May, 2018
Yes, you surely can. However, if you are a general category student, you may not be able to get courses like Bachelor of Commerce, Economics Honours, English Honours because the cut off of these courses are pretty high.

Also, one can get admission in these course throught Sports quota and ECA as well. Ill suggest you to go through the Delhi University website for undergraduate admissions to get more clarity on merit based admissions.

There are about 70 colleges in DU, they can take in almost anyone above 60% (not guaranteed though). The scary cutoffs you hear about in news is of only a handful of colleges. Even they sometimes get down to 80% in subsequent cutoffs. So Delhi has enough space for everyone. If you just want DU and any college will do, then you are in for a treat! Getting into top college will be a little difficult for someone with less that 85% and in general category.

Theoretically, you could get into even top-notch colleges like Hansraj and Hindu in the first two cutoffs if there were no caste and disability based reservation.

But you are from SC or ST or person with disability from OBC, SC or ST, feel comfortable as you might even get St. Stephens College.

There is a popular phrase of Delhi University can take in anyone - from Amartya Sen to Badshah to Shashi Tharoor and everyone else in between.

Good Luck for Cutoffs.

n.b.- next time you ask question about DU, mention the subject and stream you are applying for.

I havent selected any of the colleges in the application form of delhi university. Is reapplication required?

Sherin Tressa 29th May, 2018

Hi Santosh,

The process of selecting the college of your choice comes after the university declares the cutoff lists. The University will declare five cutoff lists followed by which is seats are vacant in any category in any of the colleges the particular college will release the cutoff list until the seats are filled. If your marks make it to the cutoff lists of the different colleges according to the course of your choice you can select the college you fit in best.

Can i get 64% marks in 12th cbse? Can i take in Admison for b.com in any college in delhi university?

Siimran Pal 29th May, 2018

Hello,

It depends on how you have given the 12th exams, and by now the results are out so I guess you must be knowing your results.

All the best to you for that.

Also, those marks are not the final deciding criteria as you have to give several entrance exams, for respective Universities that you need

IPUCET for GGSIPU etc, find out more about this and I hope you do realise what exactly you wish to do.

Apart from B.com there is BBA as well you can do it or learn more about it, both courses are rewarding.

Find out more about DU and check out the criterias and fees as DU is a little tough to enter so are the cut offs.

All the best to you
