Hey!

  • Visit DU website and withdraw your admission from the previous college from dashboard.
  • Verify if the college you seek admission into has any vacancy for your caste category and if your percentage meets the cut off percentage of the college.
  • Submit the filled cancellation form to the college to get your documents.
  • Apply to the college you seek admission in to. Download the application form and get it printed.
  • Carry all your documents along with the new application form to the college immediately .
  • Pay the fee. Fee that you paid in previous college will be refunded.

Best wishes!

Raashi Kohli 4th Jul, 2019

Hi, as you would know that Bachelors in Journalism is one of the top courses demanded in Delhi University, so much so that according to news these days this year there are around 367 applicants for 1 seat. From this number you'll surely understand that the number of applicants for this course are in tens of thousands as students from all over india as well as abroad come to take admission every year and the number keeps on rising.

Unfortunately there are only 7 colleges in Delhi University, that offer this course.

The breack uf seats in very college category wise is as follows:

General: 30

OBC: 16

SC: 09

ST: 05

PwD: 03

CW:03

Foreign Students: 03

According to last year's statistics there were 229 seats for this course and this year there are 306 seats for which there are as many as 1,12,233 participants.

Hope this answers your question. Good Luck

shivangi chauhan Student Expert 4th Jul, 2019

Hii dear,

Firstly, Congratulations for making upto Delhi University.

According to the official notification from the Delhi University site,, most probably the classes will commence from 21th of July for all the courses and colleges.

Since this time due to elections  there was delay in admission process and releasing of cut off lists,, that is why classes will commence lately.

Previous year classes started from 9th of July only. But this time its quiet late..

Hope this helped.

Good luck!

tyagi2001ayush_9087518 Student Expert 4th Jul, 2019
Hello dear aspirant

Class 12th original marksheet isn't required at the time of admission in Delhi university ,  you just need your class 12th Marksheet and class 10th marksheet,  there is no need of provisional marksheet.

Hope I am clear.

Can I deposit digi lockers class 12th provisional certificate instead of provisional certificate issued from school in Delhi University?

Raashi Kohli 4th Jul, 2019

Hi, yes you can provide the documents as DU is accepting digilocker's documents as valid for giving admissions to students.

Although, your admission will be confirmed but you will have to give an undertaking in a written application to principal that you'll submit your original documents later. After that, they will approve your admission and as soon as you get your original documents from your school, you can submit them in the college.

You can even contact the DU admission helpdesk to confirm about how the process will go about and by when you are expected to submit the original documents.

Good Luck

Sir which is good Bsc cs with Delhi University or BTech cs with private university

Ritik nakra Student Expert 3rd Jul, 2019

Hey Vishesh! Delhi University is one of the most reputated universities of country but definitely we can't ignore value of B. Tech. B. Tech is assumed way better than B. Sc. So if you are getting B. Tech in CSE which is most demanded branch of Engineering now a days in any good private college then you must go for B. Tech in CSE. I hope this may help youn.

Some one told Delhi university is waste for degree.. It is better to b. Tech only.. I got in hansraj.. Is that correct?

Nikita Akhuli 3rd Jul, 2019
DU is a highly reputated and most sort after university, btech and bsc are two different fields and you can't compare these two.
It depends completely on your interest what you want to pursue.
But getting admission in du amidst so high cutoffs is a matter of pride in itself you can't say getting a degree from du is waste.
Now it depends on you to choose.

Which is better for ba(hons) in psychology...Bharati college or Shaheed Rajguru college of applied sciences for women in Delhi University?

tyagi2001ayush_9087518 Student Expert 3rd Jul, 2019
Hello dear aspirant

Shaheed Rajguru college of applied science is better  than Bharti college,  it has a good social environment as well as a good campus,  Bharti college is also good,  but if I have to choose one for you,  it will be shaheed Rajguru college.
If you are clearing the cutoff,  you should definitely opt for it.

Hope I am clear.

There is a difference in my mothers name in my 10th & 12th marksheet. So can I submit an affidavit to get admission in Delhi University

Harsha Gurijala Student Expert 3rd Jul, 2019
Hello versha,
If there is a difference in your name or your father's name or your mother's name or you age or your gender in your certificates then you can submit your affidavit to any officials. In Delhi University admission also you can submit your affidavit then they can accept your mistake in your certificates.
Thank you.
