I didnt study Hindi in 12th. Am I eligible for B.A. Hons. Hindi Patrakarita in DU? What are the career options? Can I become a journalist?

Nikita Akhuli 30th Jun, 2019
Hi aspirant,
You are eligible for opting Hindi hons even if you have not studied the subject in your class 12th.
But the only limitation is that you will face a deduction of 2.5% from your best four % .

Yes you can choose the profession of jounralism after your ug but the limitation here again is that most Colleges offer jounralism in English so you need to be well versed with English along with Hindi.
You can probably choose the job of hindi content writer for magazines and websites as well as the professions of teacher and professor are always available for you.

I wamt to pursue bcom hons... which college is best pgdav college delhi or dyal singh college delhi university?.. plz give reasons.........

Raashi Kohli 30th Jun, 2019

Hi, below is a link where you can see the comparison of both the colleges for B.Com Hons on different aspects like course details, NAAC accreditations, fees, eligibility, seats, facilities provided by the college, contact details etc.

Dyal Singh college seems a better option than PGDAV college, Delhi on all fronts, be it academics, facilities, faculty and college life.

Rest you will have to see for yourself which college yo wish get admission in based on the travelling distance, fees and in which college you get admission through the cutoff/merit list.

Hey Janvi,

Congratulations on scoring well In 12th. Regarding DU. If you have some sought of reservation then only there will be slight chance of getting admission in DU. Or of you have ECA or sports quota.

But if your top 4 is more then 86-88% you will have chance of getting admission in DU. So calculate your top 4.

is it necessary to include english(core) in best four subjects for admission in delhi university?

snehasinha1718 Student Expert 29th Jun, 2019

Hey,

It is necessary for you to include one language subject in best 4 calculation. Including English is not necessarily required until it be the only language subject you've  studied in class 12th. For example If you've studied english as well as hindi in your 12th then you may include hindi instead of English if you've scored more in it for calculating best 4 percentage .

For calculating best 4 you have to include one language subject whichever be your core subject and which is also included in the elective subject list of du.

Hope this helps!

Will Obc NCL certificate signed by SDM/SDO be valid in Delhi University admission ?

Nikita Akhuli 29th Jun, 2019
Hi aspirant
Yes your obc certificate will be acceptable. There is no problem with that. DU just needs a self attested copy of your certificates but it's completely fine if you have it signed by some sdm.

Shanu Anand 29th Jun, 2019
hello aspirant,
First of all du takes admission on the basis of pcm and sometimes best 4 subject. It is very tough to get in du with 65% but you should try till the last cut off and chances are there to get in physical science branch in some new DU college.

i have scored 82% in best four subject with maths do i have any chance in delhi university with general category for bcom

athira_1490858591 Student Expert 29th Jun, 2019

Hi Janvi,

It is difficult to get admission for a popular course like B.com with this best of four percentage for a general category student. If you have applied for ECA/Sports, you do have a chance. Otherwise, you have less probability. However, do check the final cutoff list that is released. You may get through some average college of DU if you're lucky enough.

For now, I would suggest you take admission wherever you're getting. IP university and some good private colleges like Ashoka, Bennet, Shiv Nadar etc can be tried though their fees is quite high.

All the best.
