Is physical education is taken in best 4 for delhi university merit based.

rehan18alam Student Expert 7th Jun, 2019

Hi Rishab,

One word answer is yes. Physical education is considered in admission to DU but this will be added with a deduction of 2.5%. Physical education is not included in list A from DU. Following subjects are considered under the best 4 criteria:-

  • LANGUAGE SUBJECT
  • ONE RELEVANT SUBJECT(CHEMISTRY FOR CHEM(H))
  • SUBJECTS LIKE PHYSICS, MATHEMATICS, COMPUTER SCIENCE, HISTORY, SPANISH, SANSKRIT, ETC.

Hope this helps.

Thank You.

I have passed class 12 from Rajsthan board by biology with 77% marks.i want to take addmission in Delhi university for Bsc.i belongs to OBC

Anandhu J 7th Jun, 2019

Hello,

The admission to Delhi University for B.Sc. occurs on merit basis. If you are considering for admission to DU, then you should calculate the best four subjects' percentage and this is considered for admission. The best four includes one language, one relevant subject (Eg. Biology for B.Sc. in Botany, Zoology etc./ Physics for B.Sc. in physical sciences) plus two optional subjects.

Authorities release cut-off marks before each round of admission. If you have cut-off more than this, then you can go for admission. This cut-off varies from course to course and depends on caste, seat matrix etc. Top colleges have cut-off in the range of 95%. With 77% you won't be able to get into best colleges. You can check cut-off of previous year for various courses at http://www.du.ac.in/cut-off.html.

According to previous year cut-offs, with 77% you may get B.Sc. (Hons.) in Home science, biomedical science, physical sciences.

My percentage in 12th is 74 (best of four),can i get admission in ba (hons) political science in Delhi university or any college of du ? Ews

tyagi2001ayush_9087518 Student Expert 7th Jun, 2019
Hello dear aspirant

Political science Hons is one of the popular humanity courses in the university of Delhi and it's cutoff is usually high. The closing cutoff for this course is around 88% for general category.
If you belong to general category,  then your score isn't enough to get you a seat in Political science Hons. At the University of Delhi.

Hope I am clear.

Yashika Notnani 6th Jun, 2019

Dear Pooja,

It depends upon the category you belong to and the stream you would be taking admission into.

As far as your % is considered, 89% is good enough to get admission in any of the colleges of Delhi University.

You might not get any of the best college of du, but you’re eligible to get admitted in DU.

Thankyou!

I got 60% marks in 12 with science stream, which college is better for me under delhi university for BA also i belong to sc category?

tyagi2001ayush_9087518 Student Expert 6th Jun, 2019
Hello dear aspirant

Hope you are well,
Delhi university is one of the prestigious university of India,  it is famous for it's high cutoffs and the cutoff of BA is also high.
For admission in DU,  your aggregate percentage of best four subjects is considered,  so what matter is your BFS percentage,  not your overall percentage.
But if your aggregate BFS is near 60% then you can't get a seat in DU,  because the closing cutoff for BA programme for sc category is around 75%.

Hope I am clear

Is some relaxation for government school students in Delhi University?????

Purnima Student Expert 6th Jun, 2019

Hello Pooja!

As per the recent updated guidelines issued by Delhi University, there is no relaxation given to government school students. The relaxation and reservation criteria remain the same as last year's. The quota of seats are reserved for SC,ST OBS, Ward of Armed forces, Kasmiri Migrants and Physically Challenged candidates. If a candidate belongs to any of the above mentioned section , the only he/she can avail the relaxation.
