What is the cut off for students with ECA quota?

tyagi2001ayush_9087518 Student Expert 18th May, 2019

Delhi University reserves a few seats(about 5% in every college) for students who have indulged in Extracurricular Activities (ECA) during their school education. Candidates who are applying through this category can expect marks relaxation of up to 15% (for unreserved candidates) in merit lists.

For example- If the closing cutoff for English Hons.for a particular college is 90% (for unreserved categories),  then a student from ECA quota,  with required skills and certificates,  can get admission at less than 90%in the same course and college.

Hope,  it would help

Which is the best university to study Economics hons. In terms of placement. Other than Delhi University. How about Shiv Nadar University ?

Aryaman Tewari 18th May, 2019
See, in India, the education system is such that government colleges have always been much better than private colleges. If not in terms of infra, it is better in quality and level of teaching and the turn out.

This claim is easily justified by the alumni of various colleges, with most of the cream belonging to good government colleges.

However, this is not to discredit private universities.
Answering your question, Shiv Nadar is a very good University and has gained pace since the last few years. However, placement wise, it hasn't shown the best results. A few good companies come there, but the companies DU colleges attract is better than any.

Also, in DU, you are also taught how to become a researcher in your field.

So, yes, good luck. I would say opt for Eco Hons in DU if you are eligible, it's also much cheaper.

i opt to recheck board exams and its result will came after 1 month.what can i do as Delhi University) registration will be opened soon.

Aryaman Tewari 18th May, 2019
Hi.

Yes, so you just have to wait.

The first cut off list will be out on 14th June as far as I understand.
Now, you will have to apply to DU with the marks that you have.

However, after you receive your re-evaluated marks, you can apply for a temporary result sheet and apply with that score to DU institutions. Do keep in mind that you will have to submit an application for the same.

Even DU realises that students do put in their paper for re-evaluation. So, they have a system for that.

You will also have to submit an application to the Vice Chancellor stating your position at the start of the admission process.

Good luck!

Can i add malayalam in best of four for DU?i Wanna do BA eng(hons)

Shreya gupta 17th May, 2019
Hi
For best of four percentage calculation the method is given below:
1. 1 language course which can be core, elective, functional
2.you must include one relevant subject that is like if you choose to pursue BSc statistics of bsc maths Hons then it is compulsory for you to include mathematics as one of your best of force subjects similarly if you choose to pursue BCom aur BCom Hons it is also compulsory for you to include mathematics in your best of four
3. Two subjects from list A
Forest a you can check the Delhi University web portal where they have mentioned the courses that you can include in your best of four.intraday subject other than those in the list then there will be a deduction of 2.5 from your overall percentage like if you include physical education music in your best for then there will be a deduction of 2.5 from your overall best of four percentage.

I would suggest you to keep an update on the Delhi University web portal and you should attend the counselling session conducted by Delhi University itself with the professor sandal University students clarify your doubts and the briefly explain the admission procedure and each and every course in detail.
