am i eligible for ugc net environmental science after M.tech in automobile engineering

Raj Rakshit 4th Aug, 2021

Dear Ashis,

The ugc net examination criteria states that you must have a post graduation degree with a minimum of 55 percent marks in any field. Since you have done M. tech so you are definitely eligible to pursue the ugc net environmental science examination. There is no age limit for the assistant professor role but if you are looking forward to the JRF role then the age limit is fixed to 31 years.

All the best for your future

I want to get admitted as a faculty in this college.i have qualified ugc net commerce with good percentile..what is the procedure for that ?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 25th Jun, 2021

See from 2021 its being declared that to be a Assistant Professor in a college you need to have a PhD. Now if you have phD and then you want to apply for the job then you have approach the college website and see if there is any notifications related to vacancy. If there are no such notifications available or the vacancy section itself isn't available then approach the college directly.

Now there is a exam called SLET which is a state level examination. You can attempt this exam to be eligible to teach in college after MCOM. This is state specific so you have to search it out depending on your state.

Also there is a exam called NESLET which is for the North eastern states of India like Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Tripura . So after MCOM you can approach for lectureship in the college in the mentioned states.

Arhana Chakraborty 17th Jul, 2021

Hi aspirant,

For UGC NET exam, a candidate must secure at least 55% marks in master degree or equivalent examination from UGC recognized universities/colleges in Humanities including languages and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. The 55 % marks should be without rounding off.

For CSIR UGC NET exam,  candidates must possess M.Sc. or equivalent degree or Integrated BS-MS or BS-4 years or BE, B Tech , B. Pharma or MBBS with at least 55% marks to be eligible to apply for the exam.

I have completed my post graduation in mathematics. Now I want to go for PhD Mathematics...I have to find out that after passing UGC NET/JRF whats the criteria to get addmission in PhD(Mathematics). And which ones are PhD (Mathematics) colleges in Maharashtra? and what will be the fees??

pdwords Student Expert 22nd May, 2021
Hello,

First of all if you have completed you master's degree in mathematics with 55% aggregate, in case of reserved categories there is relaxation of 5% , you are eligible to appear for CSIR NET/JRF this is mainly for science specific streams such as mathematical science, physical science, chemical science, earth science, biological science. If you qualify CSIR NET/JRF then you may not have to appear for entrance test if that's the admission process for PhD admission because majority of universities follow this norm, as per their requirements you may only have to appear for interview, so prior to applying go through the entire admission process of the respective university in detailed manner, some of the top colleges in Maharashtra to pursue PhD in Mathematics  are IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology, IISER Pune - Indian Institute of Science Education and Research,Institute of Chemical Technology( Mumbai), VNIT Nagpur - Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Amity University( Mumbai) to name a few, check out the entire list of colleges at https://university.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-phd-in-mathematics-universities-in-maharashtra

My aunt is 39years old and willing to do further studies, shes preparing for ugc net(bengali) ,but confused because shes over-aged, what are the career opportunities for her if she clears net? right now shes taking classes in a private school after her MA

pdwords Student Expert 16th May, 2021

Hello,

When it comes to lecturership in UGC NET or even assistant professor in WBSET, there is no upper age limit in that regard, one thing I can say is edtech sector is blooming at an incredible pace, so you can ask her to join as a faculty, age is just a state of mind, if she can teach well then eventually that is what matters, she can also start her own YouTube channel for guiding many students who want go ahead with higher studies in Bengali, she can create her accounts in job portals like that of linkedin, naukri.com (//naukri.com) . indeed and stay updated regarding job opportunities.
