According to the eligibility criteria for UGC-NET, the candidate must have qualified or should be in the final year of their masters degree. Also, they must have minimum 55% marks in their masters degree while there is a relaxation of 5% for candidates with reservation. Also, it is preferable for the candidate to appear for the exam in which post graduation was done.

The NET notification has stated that, if your subject is not mentioned in the list of NET subjects, you can take up related subjects and clear NET .
