If you are an Indian Citizen who have done his/her UG Medical Education from the Foreign Medical colleges then you are eligible for the UPSC IAS program as well. There are no limitations imposed by UPSC for the Foreign Graduates in there notification.

Students who are interested in preparation of IAS can apply to jmi for IAS coaching which is only for minority students sc/st category and women.there is only 150 seats available for free coaching.

IAS exam provides a level playing field to all the students with different streams so there is no perfect subject combination that can guarantee success. It's totally about your interest. If you are interested in commerce and want to keep it as a backup option it's a good idea.
