The prelims exam is the first stage of UPSC recruitment. There are two papers in prelims- General studies paper 1 and General studies paper 2

You have already completed your graduation, hence as per the eligibility criteria of UPSC you can appear for the exam ,now coming to your second query whether coaching is necessary or not is more of an individual choice, there have been examples if many successful candidates who have qualified

Below are the Eligibility Criteria for appearing in UPSC Exam 2021:

1) Age Limit

You must be between 21 and 32 years of age. Which means you must have not been born before 2nd August, 1989 and not later than 1st August, 2000.

Through UPSC civil services examination one can get into services like IAS, IPS, Indian Foreign Service etc .

So, with UPSC civil services examination you can definitely get into Indian Foreign Service and yes ,after your BAMS you will be eligible for UPSC examination

*You must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline   from a recognised university
