Apart from IIITs and NITs and CFTIs, there are many government engineering colleges you can get through Jee Main Like Delhi technological University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Institute of Chemical Technology, IIEST Shibpur, Harcourt Butler Technical University and many more. Being top most engineering colleges of India, the cutoffs are quite higher for these colleges. Scoring at least 97 percentile in Jee Main can fetch you seat in these colleges. http://engineering.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-government-engineering-colleges-in-india-accepting-jee-main
Through UPSEE you can get Harcourt Butler Technical University, IET Lucknow, Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology, Dr Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Handicapped - these are some top notch government engineering colleges. http://engineering.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-government-engineering-colleges-in-uttar-pradesh-accepting-upsee If you wish to join Computer Science branch through UPSEE in top government colleges then you must aim to secure a rank within 1500 as CSE and IT Seats are filled first so the cutoffs are pretty high. You can check last year cutoffs here http://engineering.careers360.com/articles/upsee-cutoff

I m studying in class 11 with PCB and interested in going armed medical college but there chances are very low

srishti gulati 19th Feb, 2019

Hello Rishab,

Why are you already thinking that your chances are low of getting into AFMC? You are in Class 11th right now, there is still plenty of chance you can have a seat in college.

Maybe because your marks are low, but NEET UG hardly depends on school marks and more on NEET score. And to get a good NEET score, it can be really easy if you study effectively. Like 360 marks are of Biology section that you can score easily if you master in each and every topic on NCERT, which is easy if you start studying well. Coming to the physics and chemistry section, again master the concepts and solve as many questions as you can.

Let me tell you about my professor who is a doctor. He told us he was never good in studies and then dropped out after 12th because he was not getting any college. So, randomly he started preparing for medical. He became serious about it and studied very hard, thus scoring well and got a seat in AMU.

So, cheer yourself up, AFMC requires 550-600 marks in NEET for boys in general category, the chances are not that low!

Now, coming to the next part, to get into other courses related to the medical field that also have low fee expenditure, you can opt for government colleges that have these undergraduate programmes-

1. BHMS- A Bachelor's in Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery, it makes you a homeopathic doctor. Though the field is less than MBBS, you are nonetheless a doctor and can practice in homeopathic hospitals. Admission on based of neet score (400- 500 marks)

2. A Bachelor's in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, it makes you a certified Ayurveda doctor. With the government putting much effort to revive and promote Ayurveda, you have scope in the future. Admission on based of neet score (400- 500 marks)

3. A Bachelor's in Unani Medicine and Surgery, this degree makes you a doctor in Unani field. But Unani courses have another criterion too along with NEET score (300-400 marks). For that, you need to refer to the Unani college’s official website of your state.

4. BNYS- Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, a degree after which you can be a naturopath practitioner.  Again, NEET is required for admission.

5. PARAMEDICAL COURSES- courses such as BPT/BOT/BASLP/B.Sc MLT is the paramedical courses. Admission is either based on merit or an entrance exam. Almost every state govt. the college has such courses.

6. NURSING- while this course is mostly for female candidates, some colleges provide training to male candidates also.

7. PHARMACY- Bachelor of Pharmacy is a very career option who love the field of medicine. In this, you have both hospital and corporate jobs since pharmacist works in a range of industries related to the prescription, manufacture & supply of medicines.

Other courses related to PCB: -

1. B.Sc - a bachelors in science in various domains such as physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture etc. by any state govt. college. Admission is usually based on merit(class 12th marks), in some colleges entrance exam.

2. B.Tech(Biotechnology, Food technology)- After a 4-year engineering degree in biotech or food technology, you can work in various fields such as food, pharmaceutical, chemical, bio-products, textiles, medicine, nutrition, environmental conservation, animal sciences, agriculture, dairy technology etc.

There are many options available after PCB which you can opt for and have great jobs in them. But to get govt. colleges as they have low fees, you need to score high marks because the competition is very tough.

I hope your queries are answered, if you want to know anything else, feel free to ask.

Good luck!
