Shift1 and Shift2 are basically two different time slots a college sometimes offers for a same course. it is generally opted by private colleges inorder to intake more students per branch. Shift1 is basically morning time slot and shift2 is evening time slot. I hope it helps.

After the first round of upset counselling , you have to report at the RC for a document verification and option to choose between float,slide,freeze. 

If you have done this and chosen float option then, you need not report at the RC till you don't want to change float
