Correct Answer: i-d, ii-c, iii-b, iv-a

Solution : The correct answer is i-d, ii-c, iii-b, iv-a.

Helicase is responsible for unwinding the double-stranded DNA into single strands. It separates the two DNA strands by breaking the hydrogen bonds between them, creating a replication fork.

RNA primase is an enzyme that synthesizes short RNA primers complementary to the DNA template strands. These primers provide the starting point for DNA synthesis by DNA polymerase.

DNA polymerase is responsible for adding nucleotides to the growing DNA strand during DNA replication. It catalyzes the polymerization of nucleotides by forming phosphodiester bonds between them.

DNA ligase plays a critical role in sealing the nicks or gaps in the DNA backbone. It joins the 3' end of a new DNA fragment to the 5' end of the previous fragment, which helps in creating a continuous, intact DNA strand.

Question : Name a reproductive strategy in which parasites take advantage of the care of other individuals of the same species or different species to raise their young.

Option 1: Brood parasitism

Option 2: Sexual parasitism

Option 3: Klepto parasitism

Option 4: Competitive parasitism

Team Careers360 13th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: Brood parasitism

Solution : The correct answer is Brood parasitism.

A reproductive strategy known as brood parasitism involves laying one's eggs (the parasite) inside the nest of another (the host). Whether the host is of the same species as the parasite or not, the parasite must feed and care for her young. Fish, insects, and birds all use this tactic. The brood parasite uses egg mimicry, using eggs that resemble the host's, to control a host, either of the same species or of a different species, to raise its young as if it were its own.
