I got 544 rank in vit integrated mtech program whether I will get seat in data science ?

congrats for superb performance in both the exams.Now coming to selection of college,i would suggest you to go for NIT's .Keep VIT as your last option because VIT is mostly provide all the facilities for B.tech and is famous for B.tech.Also placements for VIT in MCA is not so good.As per your rank you will get a decent NIT like NIT Durgapur,NIT Jamsedpur,NIT Kurukshetra,NIT Raipur . Hello Manikanta, admission in Mtech course in VIT depends on your score in VITMEE which they conduct to take admissions of graduates for their post graduate programs. They provide specialisation in 21 courses. If you're gate qualified than you'll be given preference during the seat allotment. The cutoff of VITMEE depends on some of the factors such as,

1. Difficulty level of the paper.

2. Number of students appearing for the paper.

3. Number of seats.

VIT offers 21 specializations in its M.Tech program. You have not mention your course. With your rank you have  decent chances but it lot dpemds on the branch, you may get one of the institutes. VITMEE 2019 Cutoff depends on various factors from numbers of available seats to a number of applicants, etc. So it is difficult to tell you exact chances.

I would say that IISER Bhopal will always be a better choice than VIT Vellore. The primary reason being VIT Vellore is a private college and IISER is a reputed government college. If you plan to do masters then too the IISER tag will help you. I do not mean to say that VIT Vellore is not a good choice but comparing to IISER, VIT Vellore will be less preferred. IISER will be more beneficial if you want to pusue pure science.

Congrats for your performance in VITMEE.Now coming is it worth to do Mtech from VIT vellore,well i would suggest you ,keep this as your last option.you may first go for IIT'S,NIT's or IIIT's.Else you have foreign offers then join that because VIT is mostly famous for B.tech CSE students and there is no such competition.They also follow RBL for mtech which is research based learning which means for each subject you have to write a research paper.I hope it helped
